There are a lot of buzz regarding this new Tokina 35mm lens. In this short post, I will be discussing the lens construction on this Tokina 35mm lens. Bear in mind that this might get technical and those of you who are not familiar with photographic term might need to search for the specific meaning for each term somewhere online. Let me start this post. When it comes to inner construction of this lens, it has 9 elements set in 8 groups which are absolutely stunning for such a small lens with wide aperture. Tokina does not mention the use of any special glass for this lens which I found particularly weird. Also, inside the barrel is a circular, nine-bladed diaphragm that can be stopped down to f/22. This will make an excellent out of focus blur which is perfect for people who loves to shoot portraits. The moving, front group of lenses elements is surrounded with a non-rotating filter mount with 52 mm in diameter. This makes using a polarizing filter very easy.
